In Person Philosophy through Practice
Ever wondered how Yoga works and what can get in the way of the process? Ever wondered why we sometimes leave class with that post yoga chill and sometimes we don't? In this workshop we will pull back the curtain to reveal the philosophy and magic behind yoga. Interested..?
Time & Location
30 Oct 2021, 10:00 – 13:00 BST
The Yoga Tree Stirling, First Floor, 4 King St, Stirling FK8 1AY, UK
About the Event
This workshop aims to encourage a deeper more fulfilling yoga practice by beginning to understand the philosophy behind the mat practice.
We will learn how yoga works and what can get in the way or block the potential positive outcomes of the practice. We will investigate where our mat practice and yoga philosophy intertwine. Using practical examples from our mat practice we will begin to understand where and why the obstacles may appear and potentially prevent progression in our practice.
There will be a mat practice during the workshop to observe potential obstacles and our reactions to them. Practicing in awareness of our personal obstacles can allow us to reframe and, ultimately, create the freedom to move forward.
“We are on the mat as we are in life” – Coral Brown. Our mat practice is life practice. If we are able to identify and reframe things on the mat, we can use these skills to manage life off the mat.
This workshop is an introduction to the philosophy of yoga and is suitable for all, students who are keen to delve a little deeper and teachers who would like a philosophy refresher.
