YOGA - THE PRACTICE OF BEING HUMAN (not perfect)
SUNDAY 19TH APRIL 2026, 10.30am-12.30pm
Yoga isn’t meant to make you into a super bendy super hero. It’s meant to help you live.
Most of us don’t struggle because life is difficult ALL the time. We struggle because we fight reality, repeat the same old patterns and freeze when we don’t know what to do next.
This workshop’s the first step to help you change that.
THE PROBLEM
Life doesn’t often go to plan. We all know that.
Things change. People change. Even we change.
And when change happens, most of us tense, resist, overthink, or shut down completely. This is what that might look like:
Your partner tells you that they need space and your mind immediately jumps to the worst case scenario. You can’t sleep with their words going round in your mind. So you replay every recent conversation looking for the “why”.
Or you find yourself going over a painful argument with a friend that happened years ago. Still wishing you’d come up with a better response and still feeling the knot in your stomach when you replay it in your mind.
Or you know you have to have a conversation with a difficult colleague at work about their behaviour, but you keep putting it off waiting for the right time when their reaction might be more manageable.
In a nutshell, you are:
-
Feeling stuck between knowing that something needs to change, but not knowing how.
-
Repeating the same reactions, conversations, or behaviours.
-
Waiting for the right time to take action.
-
Judging yourself for not handling things better.
This isn’t failing … it’s being human, without the tools to understand what’s happening.

THE POTENTIAL
Yoga was never meant to stay on the mat.
At it’s very core yoga is a lived philosophy for navigating discomfort, uncertainty, fear and change. It helps you notice what’s actually happening, understanding why you might be reacting the way you do and respond with more clarity.
When yoga is practiced this way, this is what happens:
You notice the tightness in your chest and catch yourself before sending the text, "Fine. Whatever." to your friend who is just asking, "How are you?". You delete it and reply this instead, "I've had a rough day, can we talk tomorrow?"
Or, when your partner asks for space, instead of spiraling into 'what did I do wrong?' you take a breath and ask, "Do you want to talk about it or just need some quiet time?" without making their need about your worth.
Or, when you find yourself replaying that horrible conversation from years ago in the shower. You catch it, stop ruminating by reminding yourself that it’s done and nothing can be achieved by replaying ancient history. You breathe and focus on the day ahead.
So, you now find yourself living a life where:
-
Acceptance replaces resistance.
-
Awareness interrupts your auto pilot.
-
Action becomes possible even when there is the discomfort of uncertainty.
Yoga isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about being present.
It’s about being human.

THE SOLUTION
Yoga - The practice of being human (not perfect) is a 2-hour, in person workshop that translates yoga philosophy into real, useable tools for everyday life.
We’ll explore:
ACCEPTANCE AND CHANGE
How clinging to how things should be creates suffering … Like when you keep expecting your partner to be spontaneous like they were when you first met, getting frustrated every Friday when they'd rather stay in than go out.
How fear of change shows up in the body and mind … When your mum asks, "So what's happening with your career, going for any promotions?", at Sunday dinner and you feel that knot tighten in your stomach because you don't have an answer and the uncertainty feels unbearable.
Practical grounding tools to meet reality as it actually is, not how you want it to be … simple practices can make all the difference here, like breathing, anchoring, movement or meditation can be used to create the space you need between the impulse and action. The result? Making the choices you need to and feeling so much better in your body.
HOW YOU GET IN YOUR OWN WAY
Why you may repeat patterns that don’t serve you. Like staying in relationships that drain you. Saying YES when you mean NO.
You find yourself in the same situation time and time again and wonder, "How did I get here, again?"
Like, seeing "Sarah's" text asking for coffee then feeling your stomach drop because you know she'll talk for 90 minutes, but won't ask one question about you, and you'll leave feeling like you just ran a marathon, but you text back, "Sounds lovely!☕️" anyway.
Yoga philosophy gives you the tools to help you learn how to catch yourself before you fall in that hole again.
WHEN YOU FEEL FROZEN
Waiting for confidence or certainty keeps you stuck. You bookmark the job listing, close the tab, open it again, decide you need one more certification first, close the tab again, and repeat this exact same pattern until the application deadline passes. Again.
Yoga philosophy gives us the understanding and tools to help you take action without needing a guaranteed outcome. How to take one meaningful step without the pressure of perfection.
This is not just theory or pie in the sky.
Everything is connected to lived experience.
WHAT TO EXPECT
-
Clear grounded teaching with humour.
-
Real-life examples.
-
Simple reflection practices.
-
Practical tools you can use.
If you’re ready to follow from feeling stuck to having the ability to take meaningful action towards living a life that’s for you, then, Yoga - The Practice of being human is for you.
WHO THIS IS FOR
This workshop is for you if:
-
You often feel stuck or overwhelmed when in a period of change.
-
You want practical tools, not platitudes or greeting card philosophy.
-
You are curious about yoga beyond the poses.
P.s. This is not a mat practice. No flexibility required. No prior yoga experience needed.
I am so excited to share this with you ... this is what I've been working towards for years. Giving you the tools of yoga for everyday life!
