About the Event

Many of us started attending Yoga classes because of the physical practice, usually driven by the desire for a “Yoga Body” and/or increased flexibility.

When I started Yoga I was unaware of the history or the philosophy underpinning the mat practice. In truth, the practice of Yoga and it’s aims go far beyond what we do on our mat. The rich practice of Yoga is more about how you see yourself and how you interact with the world around you, than trying to get your leg behind your head.

If you are interested in discovering more about where your mat practice comes from and learning about how you can extend your practice on and off the mat then this workshop is for you.

We will discuss what yoga means to us, a brief history of Yoga and begin to explore the philosophical concepts from 2 main yoga Philosophy texts, the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

Join us for this light and informal workshop to discuss the fascinating roots of the practice of Yoga.
